More and more applied research and development is underway in the labs at UMass Boston. Last night Drs. Alice Carter, Robyn Hannigan and Deyang Qu presented results of their innovative research to the members of the Venture Development Center’s advisory board, who then repaired for an informal dinner conversation. Attending were Ruth Atherton, Patent Counsel, Genzyme Corporation, Naseem Amin, Senior Vice President for Business Development, Biogen Idec, Robert J. Creeden, Managing Director, Center for Innovative Ventures at Partners Healthcare, and JP Marchette, Principal, Velocity Financial Group. Other board members are Tom Manning, Deputy Chancellor, UMass Medical School, and William Guenther, President, MassInsight Corp.
